September brings the start of autumn to Ascot, but there is still plenty happening in and around the area. From racing and food at Ascot Racecourse to local markets, festivals and outdoor events, it is a great month for getting out and enjoying everything the local area has to offer.

Whether you are planning a day at the races, meeting friends, visiting Windsor or simply looking for something different to do this September, here is our guide to what’s on in Ascot.

The Big Ascot Food & Wine Racing Weekend - 4th and 5th September

September gets off to a busy start at Ascot Racecourse with The Big Ascot Food & Wine Racing Weekend on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th September.

The two-day event combines late-summer Flat racing with plenty for food lovers to enjoy, including food stalls and live cooking demonstrations. It is an ideal day out whether you are a regular racing fan or simply looking for a social weekend with friends and family.

With a major race meeting taking place, roads and parking around Ascot can become much busier than usual.

Booking an Ascot taxi to Ascot Racecourse in advance means you can leave the car at home, avoid the parking hassle and enjoy the food, drink and racing without worrying about the journey home.

Ascot Farmers' Market - Sunday 20th September

For something a little more relaxed, Ascot Farmers' Market returns on Sunday 20th September.

Open from 9am until 1pm, the market is a great opportunity to browse locally produced food and other goods, with a selection including fresh produce, pies, pastries, dairy products and plants.

It is an easy way to spend a Sunday morning while supporting local and independent producers.

If you are meeting friends, picking up a few treats or combining the market with lunch elsewhere in Ascot, Ascot Cars can take care of the driving.

Windsor Festival - From 18th September

Just a short journey from Ascot, the Windsor Festival begins on Friday 18th September and continues into October.

The festival brings together music, literature, arts and live performances at venues across Windsor, including some of the town's most distinctive historic locations.

It makes a great evening or weekend out for anyone looking to enjoy something a little different this autumn.

Travelling from Ascot to Windsor? Booking a local taxi means there is no need to worry about parking in the town centre or arranging the journey home after an evening event.

Windsor Half Marathon - Sunday 27th September

September also sees the return of the Windsor Half Marathon on Sunday 27th September.

The 13.1-mile event takes place within Windsor Great Park, starting and finishing on the iconic Long Walk. With the impressive surroundings of the Great Park, it is a popular challenge for runners and a great event for friends and family to support from the

sidelines.

Whether you are running, supporting someone or simply visiting Windsor Great Park for the day, arranging your transport in advance can make getting there and back much easier.

Enjoy Early Autumn Around Ascot

You do not need a major event in the diary to enjoy Ascot in September.

As summer begins to turn into autumn, it is a great time to explore Windsor Great Park, head out for lunch or dinner in Ascot and Sunningdale, or spend a relaxed weekend discovering more of the local area.

Windsor Great Park also offers horse-drawn carriage experiences throughout the year, giving visitors another way to explore the surroundings.

If your plans involve a meal, drinks or a day out with friends, Ascot Cars can help you get there comfortably without worrying about parking or who is driving home.

Getting Around Ascot This September

September may be quieter than Royal Ascot week, but major race days and local events can still make roads, stations and parking areas busier than usual.
